Founding and location:
Founded in 1988, Near East University is located in Nicosia, the capital of Northern Cyprus, and as an international higher education institution that employs highly qualified personnel, it provides the largest opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate education for more than 26,000 students coming from more than 100 countries. Near East University has 16 colleges with 220 departments, 4 graduate schools with about 200 graduate programs, 4 high schools and 28 research institutes, and it has many international memberships.

Near East University is a full member of the European University Association (EUA), the International Association of Universities (IAU) within UNESCO, the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP), the Joint Commission International (JCI), the Federation of Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and 118 Institution and other national and international institutions, moreover, many membership applications related to various disciplines are already in progress.
Faculty of Medicine, which is the only medical school in Northern Cyprus; Faculty of Dentistry which is the first and only faculty of Northern Cyprus; Dental clinics are the world’s first JCI accredited private dental clinics.
The Great Library, the largest and most comprehensive library in the eastern Mediterranean region with more than one million printed materials and 115 million electronic resources, where many national and international conferences are held.
Near East University Hospital, which is the most advanced research and training hospital in the eastern Mediterranean region.
The College of Pharmacy is the first and only college of pharmacy in Northern Cyprus.
Near East University students are provided with comprehensive facilities and opportunities on campus such as sports fields, shops, restaurants, dormitories with a capacity of 5,000 people, health and fitness centers, hospitals, cafes, student clubs, radio TV center, library, Olympic swimming pool, national and international banks , travel agencies, post office, regular buses that travel between the city and the airport from early morning until late at night and security and health services.
