Founding and location
Istanbul Okan University is a private Turkish endowment university, founded in 1999 and education began for the first time in 2003-2004. It is considered among the recognized universities in the European Union and many Arab countries, due to its distinction and superiority over many universities at the local and international levels.
Okan University is located in Tuzla, in the Turkish state of Istanbul. The university includes more than 20,000 students from different countries of the world at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Okan University is distinguished by its high potential, as it is considered one of the fastest developing and growing Turkish universities, and it has all the specifications required to be available in any international university. It undoubtedly contributes to the development of knowledge and science at the national and international levels, as a result of the high quality of education at Okan University and its accredited programs and research centers.

Okan University offers 63 undergraduate programs, 41 master’s programs, 13 doctoral programs in 8 colleges, 2 vocational schools, and 2 graduate schools.
The mother tongue of the university is English, but the university administration provides students with opportunities to learn other languages such as Turkish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese.
The first Turkish university to be a member of the international student exchange network Erasmus, Istanbul Okan University, thanks to its many relationships, offers its students exchange opportunities with 400 different institutions all over the world.
The university studies most majors and includes the following colleges: College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Art, Design and Architecture, College of Business and Administrative Sciences, College of Humanities and Community Sciences. Faculty of Law, Faculty of Health Sciences and Higher Schools of Health Sciences in addition to Applied Sciences.
The university is distinguished by its amazing campus, classrooms equipped with all the means that provide students with a more effective level of study, modern laboratories, technical workshops equipped with technical equipment, conference rooms and research centers.
