Founded by the Atilim Foundation on July 15, 1997 in Ankara with the aim of being a university that “provides high-quality education, produces science and technology, conducts research and illuminates the future” Atilim University takes firm steps to achieve its goal and even takes it one step further to serve as a foundation university as an entity Legally carries a scholarly perspective through undergraduate research projects.
More than 9 thousand students from different countries study at the university, and its academic staff is more than 650 professors, academics and researchers in various disciplines. More than 11 thousand students have graduated from the university since its establishment.

Atilim University was ranked 4th among Turkish universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking prepared by the English language rating organization TES Global on the basis of research, education, internationalization and industrial income; It also ranked second among Turkish universities participating in the physical sciences rankings prepared by Times Higher Education (THE).
Atilim University provides a higher education service with 40 programs in the Faculties of Engineering, Law, Management, Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, Arts, Health Sciences, Civil Aviation and Distance Education. Most of these majors are taught in English.
In addition, the Graduate Schools of Natural and Applied Sciences and Social Sciences offer undergraduate education at Atilim University which has launched collaborative research projects with defense industry organizations within the scope of the Defense Industry Researcher Training Program (SAYP) developed by the Undersecretary of Defense Industries.
Students use Atlim University’s 150 laboratories for research and training purposes. One of the research centers of Atilim University which is the Center of Excellence for Metal Forming has the distinction of being one of the most advanced in Europe and the first and only research center in Turkey
